Large Cork Sheet, 1-Sheet

This 1/4" thick 36"W x 12"H cork sheet can be cut to make perfectly scaled bricks. Kristine Hanna of Paper Doll Miniatures introduced this technique to us and used it on the exterior of the Brentwood Dollhouse. To achieve the result shown on the Brentwood, the cork can be cut into long thin strips approximately 1/8" wide. The strips should then be further cut into 3/4" individual pieces. This allows the bricks to stay the same height (1/4") and width (3/4") but vary slightly in depth to provide a realistic look. Kristine then individually glued the bricks to the exterior, with each edge butting up to another brick edge, eliminating the need for grout. She then painted the applied bricks with flat white house paint. Kristine's complete instructions are attached for your reference. Two sheets would be needed to do the entire Brentwood exterior, with some leftovers; one sheet would be enough for just the front. 3"Square shown above.
