This Louisa Wall Sconce has a mirrored glass wall plate that reflects light beautifully. Metal with a glossy black finish. A Houseworks innovation has fine-tuned the concept of battery-operated dollhouse lighting! This well-designed, high-quality fixture has a small battery case which unscrews to access the battery. Everything has been made even easier because the base is magnetized! To install, just glue the tiny metal backplate where you want the fixture and the magnetized light will stay in place. The magnet is strong enough to hold but light enough to remove and operate the on/off switch or change the battery. No more fumbling with a permanently installed tiny fixture! The included 3V CR1632 lithium battery is replaceable and will last approximately 50 hours. The LED bulb is not replaceable but will burn for about 4,000 hours and put out much less heat than traditional bulbs.
Battery-operated lights, especially those that use a magnetic mount, can be heavy, and are therefore best attached to a wall or ceiling in a permanent or semi-permanent manner. A solvent-based glue or an epoxy will create a permanent attachment. Drilling a hole in the magnet and screwing the magnet to the wall or ceiling will create a semi-permanent attachment. It is semi-permanent in that the screw and magnet can be removed leaving behind only a small hole.
