Building a Day House

A DIY project designed and built
By Sally Cook-Thomas

For those of you who are not familiar with this term, a Day House is a small, one room building not used for overnight visits. These buildings are most often found at campgrounds or lakeside communities not too far from large urban areas. They are usually individually owned and used only during the warm summer months.

Our own, multi-talented, Sally Cook-Thomas thought this would be a great DIY project that can be built from scratch using our Strip Wood. and a few simple tools.

Your finished Day House will be about 12" x 12" and can be an artist's studio, a writer's retreat at the back end of your garden, a beach cabana or a hunter's roost in the woods. You could easily double the size to create a larger version. Get excited, be creative, use your imagination and just see where it takes you.
