Bellingham Cabin

About This Scene:

by Patricia H.
I bought this Bellingham dollhouse pre-built but unfinished. I wanted to make it a hunting/fishing cabin in honor of my father. I cut out part of the ceiling above the living area to make room for a nice deer antler chandelier. Many of the extra touches were made with Sculpey clay that I baked – mounted fish trophy on wall, mallard duck in flight on fireplace mantel, fish in aquarium top-floor bedroom and long-horns over fireplace. I love the red kitchen appliances (from Miniatures.com). I built piers along the front porch to bring more of a rugged feel to the house, covering them with that fantastic ‘bumpy stone paper’. I added as much electricity as I could muster. The deer antler chandelier is made using Sculpey clay molded over wires and attached to a hanging light fixture. This is my favorite dollhouse and is my “keeper”. My father would’ve loved it!
