Crafty extras:
The box and the walls beneath the window are foam core. The book's cover is corrugated cardboard covered with fabric and green craft paint. The pages of the "book" are poster board with metallic gold craft paint. While paint was still wet, a fine-toothed comb was dragged across the board to simulate page edges. The frame around the scene is poster board with wallpaper. Snow-Tex/white paint and iridescent glitter was used on the roof, bushes and garland.
