Emily's Bedroom

Crafty extras:

General tip for painting laser-cut wood kits: The charred edges will show through acrylic paint, light colors especially, so it is a good idea to prime the pieces. A matte white spray paint such as Krylon is recommended. Sand lightly when dry.

To highlight the tiny window/door details, paint the center potion of the frame pieces with a contrasting color before gluing the grid pieces on top.

The spindle areas of the bed were first painted gloss white, then masked off with clear tape while the rest of the bed was painted yellow. When dry, score around the tape with a knife and remove carefully.

You will need fabric to cover the provided mattress and toy box seat cushion, plus fabric and batting or foam to make a bed pillow and chair cushions, if desired.

Printies for the red roof shingles and shelf backing paper can be found here
